The Aanraku Wall Mounting Device Extender Unit is used to give extra depth by extending the distance an item hangs off the wall by 1/2".  Also great if you want to back-light a piece on the wall.  This item will not work on it's own and must be used in conjunction with the Aanraku Wall Mounting Device.  Both items are shown in the image.  One unit per purchase.
